Cost
The program fee is US $2,800 $2,300 per person.
The program fee includes all lectures, excursion, admission, local transportation, lodging, insurance and SOME meals. The program fee also includes the airfare between Taiwan and Japan.
The program fee does NOT cover the following:
- The airfare between U.S. and Taiwan. (The airfare ranges from $800 – $1,800 round trip.)
- Meals not covered by the program
- Travel documents such as visas, passport, etc. (U.S. citizens do NOT require visas to enter Japan and Taiwan for the duration of the program)
- Personal expenses.
Students are also responsible for 3-credit hour UM-Flint tuition if choose to take this program for credit. Current UM-Flint tuition rate can be found here: UM-Flint Tuition and Fees
UM-Flint offers many study abroad scholarships for qualified students. In 2009 qualified students participating in Japan/Taiwan Study Abroad Program received 50% coverage of the program fee from study abroad scholarships. The amount of scholarship varies every year.
